Wildlife on our land

Wildlife is at the forefront of our business and we encourage biodiversity as much as we can whether growing our produce naturally without the use of chemicals, plastic and peat or creating habitats amongst our growing spaces, for example our willow coppice which is home to so many insects and mammals from parasitic wasps, beetles, moths, harvest mice, hedgehogs, fox and deer. And bird species including the willow warbler, Heron, Sparrow-hawk, snipe and water rails.

Pollinators play an important roll in these ecosystems, fertilising the fruit and flowers so that we are able to collect seed. We are very happy to see the hungry predator species like ladybird larvae and hover fly larvae munching on the excess greenfly.
